Halo 3 Revealed

This is the moment we have been waitng for,  Master Chief strolls across a Covenant controlled Earth.  Messages flicker from Cortana, a galaxy apart.  A covenant dropship flies right over his head.  At the edge of a cliff, Master Chief looks down.  A huge forerunner structure is being excavated.  What is it doing here?
