Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 is a WWII game though surprisingly refreshing. Battle is redefined on hardened and veteran difficulty levels. There is much more freedom on missions than its predecessor Call of Duty: Finest Hour. Smoke Grenades are extremely useful if you find yourself pinned down by a MG-42. The D-Day Level is surprisingly different from the classic MOH mission. Instead you find yourself 3 miles west of Omaha Beach and in the Battle of Pointe du Hoc. I won't spoil what happens here, leaving you to find out.

Sound:
Music matches the situation well. Background sounds can surprise you if you are off your guard.

Immersion:
Extremely tense and never a moment of silence. Enemies are much smarter and will pick up your grenades and toss them back at you.

Graphics:
Jaw dropping. If you aren't careful you think it is a movie. When buildings collapse you can see the individual planks cracking and bending.

Grade:
+good graphics
+great intensity
+lots of freedom
+no health
-can be a bit... difficult
-can be easily overwhelmed
?why can your allies and enemies pick up grenades and throw them back but not you
final score: 9.5
